We use QuickBooks almost exclusive in our accounting/bookkeeping and consulting business. So I am sitting at my office computer last week and "HELP" email can in. I wasn't involved in anything pressing so I called the person and asked him what the problem was. He had a Deposit in QuickBooks that was showing up in a customer ledger that was different from the name on the deposit. It was late in the day & I asked myself how that happened. I verified the file and that wasn't it. I even conference called my ProAdvisor help line, we chatted for a couple minutes and there it was the answer. Believe it or not I have done the same thing he did but never had the problem. What happened was that he made a straight deposit and put the name in on the deposit. Then since it didn't show up on the bank register he entered the name on the register. The only problem is that he entered the wrong name in the register. All we had to do is look at the bank register, see the name and then open the same deposit and see the name. We fixed the bank register and the deposit no longer appeared in the wrong customer's ledger. Sometimes the questions are that easy, in fact so easy that you don't see the forest for the trees. The one nice thing is that if you are working with a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor you have a whole support staff behind them. It is great to have that support and it is from people in the US whom speak English well.
