Ok folks the best time to change payroll systems is the before the beginning of the year unless you are just starting with employees. Changing is a bit more difficult mid-year but not impossible. The reason it is more difficult is that you have to input all the information for the current year from your old sytem ito the new system. It will just cost more to change mid-year. Our belief would be that you start looking in September or October.

Do you have employees that work in more than one state? No problem.
Can I do Electronic filing & paying? The answer is that you can with the Federal. As far as the states check below to see if your state participates.
First of all it figures the overtime based on your state's laws. No figuring overtime. WOW what a time saver.
You have a choice as to time clock or time-sheets.
They are both SaaS.
With the time-sheet the employee enters their start & finish time.
With the time clock the employee punches in with a PIN. You can install this as many times as you like. After all it is on the internet. No punching errors with a required PIN. (PIN is not required but it is a better option.)
You or an authorized employee needs to review the time and approve it before it moves to the payroll.
There is no timesheet attached to this part of the program but if you know the hours by employe/job/service item you can job cost the hours.
Do you have contractors that you need to pay and file 1099s? This program will do it. You do have to print the vendor's copies but the rest of it is taken care of for you.
I wasn't sure that I liked this payroll so we setup several clients to try it this year and it has worked much better than I anticipated. We did have a couple hiccups but we have learned from the mistakes. You see we are in the Cloud and that adds different situations than working straight on your desk top.
